Latin Letters – The Third Most Spoken Language In The World

latin letters

Spanish being derived from Latin has the Latin letters in its alphabet which are also the very same letters that we see in English and most other European languages. Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world after Mandarin and English. Spanish is an Indo-European, Romance language that has originated from the Kingdom of Spain. Today Spanish is the official language in almost 20 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. In the United States of America Spanish is the second most spoken language after English. The best part is that Spanish has just 29 letters with all the same letters as in English. According to Elio Antonio a 15th century Spanish grammarian “The language is the instrument of the Empire”.

Presently Spanish is slowly becoming the second language to most Americans and Europeans. To most Latin Americans Spanish is the mother tongue although it was born in Europe. If Spanish travels across the world at this speed, anyone not knowing Spanish will surely be caught off guard when it comes to surviving on planet earth.

The languages that use the Latin alphabet today generally use capital letters to begin paragraphs and sentences and proper nouns. The rules for capitalizationhave changed over time, and different languages have varied in their rules for capitalization. There are more letters in the Spanish alphabet than in English. Do you know why?
